At TEDxOxford to talk of the dangers of being a datasexual

 

TEDxOxford University invited me to Oxford to speak  in front of 600 people about our book “Fake It!”

Here I introduced the phenomenon of the “datasexual” – a word that inspired us in the Sept 12 issue of  Wired.

Most of the audience really got the meaning of the word, as they tweeted about it a lot during and after my talk. Are you a Datasexual? they asked, as if it was something they really did not want to be themselves.

The expression is now a part of the online dictionary Wordspy, which also refers to our column about it in the The Daily Dot.
